Since 1998, Kivi Leroux Miller, the principal of EcoScribe Communications, has provided outstanding editorial and communications services on diverse projects for nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and businesses. In 2003, she launched Writing911.com, the first of several online ventures with customers in all 50 U.S. states and more than a dozen foreign countries.

Kivi teaches highly rated writing, editing, and nonprofit planning and marketing classes, as well as writing and editing seminars for clients. She is currently an instructor in Duke University's Certificate Program in Nonprofit Management and teaches courses online through Writing911.com and NonprofitAnnualReports.net. She launched her blog on Nonprofit Communications in 2006, which is now read by hundreds of nonprofits across the U.S.

Kivi is also a freelance magazine writer who has written numerous articles for Resource Recycling, American City & County, and Waste Age.

Kivi earned a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in Environmental Sciences with a minor in City and Regional Planning. She has also completed George Washington University's Publications Specialist Certificate Program. Prior to founding EcoScribe Communications, she worked for ten years in the environmental and community economic development fields in California's San Francisco Bay Area. 

Kivi is a member of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and the Public Relations Society of America.

EcoScribe Communications offers several two-hour in-person workshops to help your staff or members improve their writing and editing skills and their work on specific types of publications (e.g. annual reports, newsletters). We also offer a full-day "Writing for the Real World" workshop (this workshop can also be broken down into three two-hour sessions) and online courses through Writing911.com.
