Small Business Clients

FRONTZ STUDIO

EcoScribe created a simple website for this husband and wife team of painters so that they could maintain the site themselves.

"We just can't thank you enough for all of your help with our website!" -- Leslie Frontz

TASTINGS WINE AND BEER

EcoScribe helped this new small business develop and implement a cost-effective marketing plan including a website, email newsletter, newspaper advertising, event promotion and more.

"We are so lucky to have Kivi's help." -- Ann Holbrooks, proprietor

Government Clients

STOPWASTE.ORG

EcoScribe has edited several guides and marketing materials for the Alameda County Waste Management Authority (aka StopWaste.org).

University Clients

LOWELL CENTER FOR SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

EcoScribe has edited fundraising materials and a website plan for this university center.

CHELSEA CENTER FOR RECYCLING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

We wrote and edited the Chelsea Center's newsletter, Remarketable News, from 1999 until they ceased publication in 2002. We also edited several technical reports. The reports were written by academics and scientists. We edited them to share their technical information in plain English that non-scientists could understand and put to use.

MASSACHUSETTS STRATEGIC ENVIROTECHNOLOGY PARTNERSHIP (STEP)

STEP is a consortium of several different UMass organizations and previous annual reports had listed accomplishments organization by organization. For their 2000-2001 Annual Report, we helped them find unifying themes among the organizations to provide a more compelling picture of the good work they do as a whole for residents and businesses in Massachusetts.

EcoScribe's client list includes local and national nonprofit organizations, government agencies, universities, and socially responsible businesses. Below are descriptions of some of the work we've done for clients. This is a partial list. References and samples are available upon request.

Nonprofit Clients

THE ADVOCACY INSTITUTE

We wrote three annual reports for the Advocacy Institute. The client was in search of new ways to describe their work, and we helped them bring their accomplishments to life each year.

Comments from the Client:

"People are singing your praises up and down the hallways with manuscripts in hand." --Karen Krantweiss, Development Manager

"I think it's great--really, really great. I think it's the best communications piece we've ever done. I think Kivi is wonderful. What a great decision to use her." --Betsy Reinstein-Dewey, Director, Development

CENTER FOR ECOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGY

We've provided editorial and design services for the Center for Ecological Technology since 1999. Projects include writing and designing annual reports, creating an email newsletter, designing a site plan and writing content for their website, and editing and designing a variety of special reports and brochures.

Comments from the Client:

"It's a pleasure to work with Kivi. She understands environmental issues and can skillfully communicate CET's message. We highly value her ability to bring a project from conception through production." -- Laura Dubester, Co-Director

HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES

EcoScribe writes the quarterly newsletter of the HSUS Office of Major and Planned Gifts, including donor and staff profiles. We have also written several other publications for the office, including brochures and event invitations, as well as the office's primary outreach publication, The HSUS Guide to Major and Planned Giving.

"Our donors always love the profiles that Kivi writes about them for the newsletter. She is great to work with, and she makes my job much easier." -- Rob Blizard, HSUS Major and Planned Gifts

CHILLIWACK COMMUNITY SERVICES

EcoScribe is assisting this community-based social service agency in British Columbia with its newsletter and the executive director's speeches.

NATIONAL RECYCLING COALITION

EcoScribe Communications provided comprehensive editorial services to the National Recycling Coalition from 1998 - 2007, including writing, editing, and designing e-newsletters, a print newsletter, and their annual report; managing content and design of their website; managing production of their annual conference publications; and writing, editing, and designing assorted brochures, reports, and flyers. We worked closely with NRC staff on a sometimes daily basis to ensure their publications are meeting their needs.

CITY KIDS WILDERNESS PROJECT

EcoScribe wrote and designed a two-page summary of the organization to be used in fundraising.

AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION, Center on Children and the Law

We edited two book-length manuscripts for the ABA. The manuscripts were written by multiple authors and suffered from a lack of cohesive tone, style, and organization. We edited the reports so they appeared to have been written by one person, while preserving the technical expertise each author provided in his or her chapter.

NATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR RESPONSIVE PHILANTHROPY

We edited several reports, correcting writing errors and making the editorial style consistent.

SIERRA CLUB, New Columbia Chapter

We edited and designed two reports for the Washington, D.C. chapter. They provided text drafted by a committee of volunteers. We edited the text to make the voice and style consistent, wrote sections to fill in the gaps, and then designed the reports.

EcoScribe Communications is proud to have provided pro-bono services to the following community organizations:
